My Studio

I am fortunate enough to have my very own Pilates studio nestling at the end of my garden! It is a gorgeous wooden structure built for me by my husband. It has plenty of glass- windows, sky lights, sliding doors, thus draws lots of natural light into it (perfect for your daily ‘lux count’!) and offers surprisingly green views over the ‘Boiling Wells valley’. My clients love looking out at the garden from the studio as they exercise, hearing the birds singing and catching scents from the plants creating a holistic, sensory experience.

The centre piece is a beautiful ‘hybrid’ Reformer/ Trapeze expertly hand crafted by Adrian Gambier. It is a joy to work with and facilitates Pilates to all.

This equipment is perfect for those who may require more assistance or support whilst exercising and I use the ‘bed’ of the trapeze for exercises which would otherwise be done on a mat for those who may prefer not to get up and down from the floor.

Exercises performed are deceptively simple yet incredibly effective. Concentration is required to focus on technique and isolating muscles. The breath is controlled to enhance this. Within a short space of time you will start to notice a difference- a flatter tummy, more tone, looser joints and enjoy a greater freedom of movement.

My studio also has an area for mat based training and is well equipped with small Pilates equipment such as soft balls, exercise bands and hand weights. I can offer suspension training and have balance boards and larger exercise balls to really challenge balance and develop a strong core. I enjoy working with a variety of ‘accessories’ to ensure you maximise each session and to keep interest.

The studio has under floor heating which is sumptuous when chilly outside and assists the warm up phase of your session on any day.

I have an exercise bike which is invaluable for those preparing for or rehabilitating from a knee or hip injury or even replacement. Great for anyone wishing to raise their heart rate during a session. There is also a rowing machine offering variety for your cardiovascular training.

Relaxation and relief from pain.

I incorporate the use of foam rollers and massage balls to encourage the reduction of muscle tension particularly for the neck, shoulders and upper back and for myofascial release anywhere in the body.

Clients always feel better from this and frequently request it.

I aim for sessions to be enjoyable, even fun! I am lucky enough to have a wonderful repartee with all my clients and I welcome newcomers with an open mind, heart and approach. My ultimate and universal aim from each session is that you feel better.
